Mahogany Tea Caddy

Mahogany Tea Caddy with stepped lid, mounted central handle and decorative rococo escutcheon. Possibly late 18th century. The veneer is of good quality and the lines of the box are strong and elegant. Inside the lid opens to the horizontal. The lid has Grey/Blue shot-silk with a dark Teal trim. The tray and sides of the caddy are lined with an Esme Winter paper Frequency Blue. Ivory Lokta paper is in the base. The back corner of the box has some small damage to the veneer see photo 4. A small, solid box ideal for a memory box perhaps. No key. JB 0266
